Camera good, kit cheesy, December 31, 2010 By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Canon EOS 7D Digital SLR Camera Body + Complete Accessory Starter Package (Electronics) I purchased the 7D and kit for about the same price as I could get the camera alone elsewhere, however after receiving the kit I would recommend not wasting your time with it. The camera is great, but it did not include the warranty card. The DVD asked me if I lived in Asia or Oceania (these were the only 2 choices), so this is obviously not a US model. I called Canon and they said that Sunset Electronics is not an authorized dealer.
The kit was supposed to include a digital flash, but it was missing. The bright spot in this purchase was that when I contacted amazon regarding the flash (there was no option to contact the seller directly), they allowed me to either return the kit OR purchase ANY flash and they would reimburse me. I asked again....ANY flash? And they said yes. SO, I purchased the 580EX for $400+ and amazon refunded the purchase. So basically I got the 7D body and 580 flash for $1539.

The additional package was expensive for the cheap merchandise in it. The tripod, which I commented back to the company and never received a response, was not working properly. Couldn't extend the camera up because it was broken. The batteries can't be read by the camera and don't last very long so they are not dependable for a photo shoot. The flash looks like something I could have gotten from the dollar store. Since it had 2 extra batteries, I went with the package deal, also, lastly they don't put any warranty papers in for the camera. I hate to waste money and would not recommend the package deal.
